Darren Rose is very passionate about growing local produce that contributes to food security in the region. Two Good Acres is bio-regenerative farm and grows incredible varietal garlic, carrots, beets, parsnips, radishes, chard and rhubarb, frequenting local farmers markets such as Lancefield, Malmsbury and Castlemaine mid-week.

Darren says that climate uncertainty is hugely challenging, and fluctuating weather patterns make it increasingly difficult when growing food and this is a concern. However, he hopes that there is an even greater recognition of this incredible food hub right here in the area, but also a growing awareness of the difficulties that new farmers now face when entering the market within the region.

An absolute highlight for Darren is seeing return customers because of their appreciation of his product. Darren also said he thoroughly enjoys being part of a number of growers that believe in growing sustainable produce that promotes local consumption and thus protects food security in this beautiful region.
