Higham Blueberries has been farmed by one family since 1938 by Carolyn and Role. The blueberries were planted in 1981 by Role’s parents to escape the potato industry. It took 5-6 years before there was enough fruit to harvest and the u-pick operation began. Since then families have returned year after year to pick their own fruit sometimes multiple generations with photos in the berries for new family members.

We do PYO now by appointment so that it is an enjoyable experience for everyone . We began going to farmers markets in about 2005 and now regularly attend Lancefield farmers market especially with fresh fruit in January and February.
