Mountain View garlic is a small family-run fresh produce farm that grows seasonal fruit and vegetables, and stocks the farm shop with only locally produced items. You drive past the free roaming chickens as you enter Baz Kerr’s Mountain View Garlic Farm shop, and are warmly greeted by the man himself.
Baz and his wife started Mountain View Garlic as a hobby farm growing garlic in 2015, but have since expanded their produce and the growing area of the farm now includes an array of seasonal fruit and vegetables, including garlic, beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, rhubarb, and berries to name just a few. There is also a range of products such as garlic salts, free-range eggs, jams, cheeses and dairy products. If you are really lucky, Baz may even walk to the growing area whilst talking you through the growing process and cut your produce straight from the ground, and it really doesn’t get any fresher than that!
Baz is very passionate about growing and selling local fresh produce, and his hope for the future is to see more growers in the region. Whilst weather is forever a grower’s challenge, Baz says the highlight of being a grower is meeting people. And meeting Baz is an additional highlight to the wonderful produce you can find at Mountain View Garlic Farm shop.
